NEW DELHI: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi termed demonetisation an “out and out catastrophe” and GST a torpedo that ruined the overall economy, gearing up the celebration to launch “desh bhugat raha hai” campaign on ‘notebandi’s’ anniversary on November 8.

Attacking the ruling BJP for its decision to rejoice demonetisation, Rahul said, “The decision of demonetisation was an out-and-out catastrophe. The PM is but not capable to have an understanding of the agony of the country. I will not know what they are heading to rejoice. November 8 is a unhappy day for us.”

Rahul accused Modi of providing back to back shocks to the region. “Demonetisation was the initial torpedo which the region survived, but the 2nd torpedo of GST ruined it,” he additional.

The powerful terms came right after Congress vice-president in a conference of AICC typical secretaries decided to launch a nationwide campaign on the twin challenges that the opposition blames for occupation losses and financial slowdown.
